‘Ledbury’ is the word for poetry festival celebrations’ by Chloe Harvey

Over ten days this summer, a quiet town has become an international voice for championing poetry and creativity. The Ledbury Poetry Festival is the biggest of its kind in the UK and runs until the 9th July. The town welcomes everybody from far and wide to celebrate and enjoy worldwide literature.

Now in its 25th year, the festival includes several activities such as talks, seminars, music and workshops. Some much-loved faces are also in this year’s exciting programme of events, including Michael Morpurgo, Monty Don, Joelle Taylor and Don Paterson.

Come along to feel inspired by the exclusive events and explore the wonderful atmosphere of this historic ‘poetry town’. And to finish an unforgettable day out, take part in afternoon picturesque ‘passeggiata’ walks, evening performances and watch poetry ‘slams’- knockout competitions shooting stanzas to thrill.

The weekends harbour the most events, crowds and energy, so join in on the fun and take a look at the online programme by clicking here.
